Course Tutor

Dr. Tilman Simon was born in 1967 in Heidelberg and grew up in Freiburg, Kinshasa (Congo) and Karlsruhe. After graduating from high school, he completed vocational training as a biological and technical assistant (BTA) in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. After working as a BTA in Pforzheim, he studied veterinary medicine in Budapest and Berlin

After his license to practice as a veterinarian in 1996, he did his doctorate at the Federal Institute for Consumer Health Protection and Veterinary Medicine (BgVV) on systems for recording adverse drug effects.
Dr. Simon was a racecourse veterinarian at the Berlin-Karlshorst harness racing track.
He specializes in equine dentistry. After extensive further training at home and abroad, he has the additional qualifications "Animal Dentistry" and "Veterinary Care of Equestrian Events". He is authorized to further train the Bavarian Chamber of Veterinarians in these specialist areas and is a certified horse dentist of the Society of Swiss Veterinarians (GST). Dr. Simon is the author of a specialist book on equine dentistry. Dr. Tilman Simon is a founding member of the German Society for Animal Dentistry (DGT) and was a member of the Dental Commission of the French Equine Veterinary Association (AVEF). He is also a member of the Swiss Association for Equine Medicine (SVPM), the Federal Association of Practicing Veterinarians (BpT), the German Society for Veterinary Medicine (DVG) and the Society for Equine Medicine (GPM). Dr. Simon gives lectures and courses in equine dentistry worldwide and in several languages, both for veterinarians and for interested owners. He has published several publications on the subject in academic journals (see list below). Since April 2000 he has been with his wife, Dr. Isabell Herold established a joint veterinary practice in Warngau (near Tegernsee). They have two sons. In his free time he is passionate about dancing Tango Argentino, happily driving a horse-drawn carriage or driving his Land Rover off-road.
